Prakruti.
An unfamiliar word for an unfamiliar concept.
It means your Ayurvedic Constitution, or mind-body type, and for most of us, we weren’t raised to think such a thing even existed so it’s a bit unfamiliar to begin making changes in our lives & health based on it!
But the rewards of really understanding your prakruti are so very worthwhile, and if you can change your nutrition, daily rhythms and activity to be in sync with your mind-body type, you’re going be great leaps ahead with disease-prevention.
When you come to any Ayurvedic practioner, s/he is highly skilled at evaluating at least 20 factors:
- Body frame
- How weight is held
- Skin
- Teeth
- Eyes
- Pulse
- Tongue
- Hair
- Nails
- Appetite
- Taste
- Thirst
- Elimination
- Activity
- Mind
- Emotions
- Support
- Memory
- Sleep
- Dreams
Once a practitioner determines your Ayurvedic constitution, s/he will keep that as the foundation, and assess additional layers that a person demonstrates in their chronic & acute health concerns.
